I first got a Moran when it was popular when it got cancelled. The orinal Moran sported a mirror finish, convex edge and leather sheath, but got discontinued. A few innovative thinkers (bald1 comes to mind) ordered custom kydex sheaths and found a superior afffordable fixed blade. Spyderco saw the trend and adapted quickly by lowering the price point through a revamped Moran, with the best production sheath I’ve seen to date. Even in this non-convex sharpened edge, the Moran is in a league of its own. It’s cuts better than my Calypso jr. The grip is suprisingly secure, thanks to stragically placed kraton inserts, that stick to your hand and not your pocket. It’s a great fixed blade pocket knife. Just lose the Tek- Lok and drop it in a pocket. A concept that may be perfected with the Vagabond, which handled like a mini-Temperance FB.
