This was the moment of the meet where more and more knives were trickling in at my table to photograph them. Consequently, I had my face inside my lightbox behind the camera and I couldn’t quite get all the info Sal and Eric were giving. So if any fellow attendee can add info on these following prototypes, please don’t hesitate.
From the pictures you will notice that the Delica 4 Super Blue has a laminated blade. I’m not sure what steel was used for the outer layers. Sal mentioned that the plan is to make the following knives in a sprint run of super blue with a grey FRN handle: Stretch, Endura and Dragonfly.
I know you can find official Delica specs in every catalog, but just for completeness sake (and you can determine how ‘off’ our measurement are), we measured the Delica 4 Super Blue. Again, we took a ruler and lined up on the blade against the edge of the scale near the pivot and measured in a straight line to the tip.
Blade Length: 7,5 cm / 2.95 inch
Overall Length: 18 cm / 7 inch
Well I hope they at least put a silver clip on it instead of black, it’ll match the blade guys. I don’t know who does spyderco’s colors but it leaves something to be desired. carbon fiber scales would be nicer.
+1 for the super blue.
I pre-ordered one … Color, clip, steel, FRN, all suit me fine … way to go Sal, Eric, and everyone @ Spyderco!
